What is the “Black Keys Etude”?
Written in the early 1830s, Etude Op.10 No.5 is the fifth piece in Chopin’s Op.10 set.
The right hand plays almost exclusively on black keys while the left hand provides accompaniment and chords. Despite its brevity, the lively key of G-flat major combined with Chopin’s unique rubato make it captivating.

Fixed “hand shape” for black key positions — Set the hand slightly further in, using the pads of fingers 3, 4, and 5 on the black keys for stability.
