To play Sigure, you will need three things in addition to the app itself: a VR headset, a digital piano, and a MIDI cable. Below is a detailed explanation of each.

Meta Quest 3 (VR Headset)

Sigure displays the game screen directly over your real piano when using the Meta Quest 3 VR headset.

Meta Quest 3s (Budget Version)

You can also play on the budget version, the Meta Quest 3s!

Its field of view is slightly narrower than the Quest 3, but if you want to casually experience VR/XR for the first time, the Meta Quest 3s is more than enough.

Head Strap (Optional)

Not absolutely required, but if you want a more secure and comfortable fit, we recommend adding a head strap (compatible with both Meta Quest 3 and 3s).

By turning the knob at the back, you can tighten or loosen the fit. It also helps balance the front and back weight, making the headset more stable.

MIDI Cable

USB Type-B Cable

To play Sigure, you’ll need a cable to connect your VR headset to your digital piano.

Please prepare a cable with the following connectors:

  • VR headset side: USB Type-C
  • Digital piano side: USB Type-B / Type-C / Micro-B / Round (DIN)
※ This depends on your piano model, so please check beforehand.

For most setups, a 1m or 2m cable(a 3.3 ft or 6.6 ft cable) works best.

If you’re unsure, choose 2m—it’s better to have extra length than not enough.

Round MIDI Connectors

If your piano has round MIDI IN/OUT ports, please use a traditional MIDI cable.

※ If your piano has both USB-B and round connectors, always prioritize using USB-B.

Micro USB Pianos

Some 61-key digital pianos may require a Micro USB cable. Be sure to check your model.

Digital Piano

To play Sigure, you’ll need a digital piano with a MIDI output port.

※ Acoustic pianos cannot be used, as a cable connection is required.
※ MIDI keyboards without built-in sound will still output sound through the VR headset, but latency may occur. For this reason, we recommend digital pianos.

Beginner Recommendation: Roland GO-88P

For first-time buyers, we recommend the Roland GO-88P (GO Series, 88 keys).

If you already have a suitable desk and chair, you can use it without a stand. However, if the height doesn’t match, it may feel uncomfortable or cause shoulder stiffness.

For beginners, it’s safest to buy it with a stand and bench set.

61-Key Recommendation: CasioTone CT-S1

Sigure now supports 61, 73, and 76-key pianos in addition to 88 keys!

Be sure to confirm whether your keyboard has MIDI output and check the connector type.

For the CasioTone CT-S1, you’ll need a Micro USB cable. (⚠️ USB-A cables will not work.)

⚠️ Important: Some CASIO keyboards do not support MIDI output. Please check your model carefully.

Conclusion

This guide covered the essential equipment for enjoying the VR piano game Sigure.

With your VR headset, digital piano, and MIDI cable ready, you’ll be all set to experience the fun of Sigure!
